Happy Galentine’s Day!

Since my move back to the Bay Area, one of my favorite ways to meet and make new friends is rubbing elbows with the vast community of bloggers. After briefly meeting in November, I started following MontgomeryFest and simply adore Annie, the mastermind behind it. This lovely lady threw a Galentine’s Day fete to remember… and, if you didn’t know already, I’ll happily take any excuse for bubbly, most especially one that involves baubles and bloggers.

Annie and friends transformed flower shop Ampersand in the Mission into the most delightful event space. A converted vintage garage with a turquoise door and decidedly mismatched tins of pretty blooms, it was the perfect locale for gals who are used to snapping noteworthy pics on command.

The bubbly bar was appropriately stocked with all the fixin’s and mixers you could imagine… a nod to the creativity and diverse palettes of this crowd. I opted for bubbly straight up, though the rose simple syrup was wonderfully festive and not too sweet.

Making new friends and catching up with old ones, Annie brought her circle together with the sparkliest toast.

What’s a blogger event without macarons? These treats were homemade by Annie’s friend Natalia.

One of the best parts of the evening was running into my real life friend Stacey who started Stacey Ann Loves after we first met last April.

Hostess with the mostest Annie wouldn’t let us get away without adorable totes filled with amazing local goodies (my personal favorite was the yoga mat spray). Curious to see what else we got? Head over to MontgomeryFest for a peek inside the bag… plus a chance to win your own!

I have always appreciated the story of St. Valentine—from my understanding a Roman soldier who sacrificed his life for his Christian friends during the time of Christian persecution (though that may be more legend than anything). Regardless, to me Valentine’s Day has always been about celebrating love and friendship, so a gathering of girls was the ultimate way to capture the spirit. Thanks again, Annie!

However you’re celebrating today, try to take a moment to acknowledge those you love in some small way. Happy Valentine’s Day!
