11 years ago, one of the best television shows aired it’s final episode. To this day, FRIENDS makes me laugh, makes me cry, and teaches me unexpected lessons about life… rightfully so since I was watching these 20-somethings as a middle schooler. Here are some of those unexpected lessons.

Even the most confident girl may need a little extra encouragement from time to time… after a fight with a friend, after a tough day at work, on a quiet Tuesday night, or when your love life’s D.O.A. Ritual is a way for us to feel control over some small part of the universe’s ways. We use it to celebrate tradition, but we also use it in our daily lives when we get ready for work or wind down for bed. I’ve found small things I can do with purpose that have the same effect of calm and contentment that longer rituals can have. Take it from our favorite friends; you can do any one of these acts or a combination to quickly feel superbly sexy again.

Light a candle.

Candles are not only for blackouts and romantic marriage proposals. They are just as fantastic for a solo night in. I always stock up on my favorite scents, usually with floral notes or hints of clean ocean air. As soon as I turn off a lamp and light a candle, my bedroom feels instantly serene.

Take a bubble bath.

Stripping down is probably a no-brainer, but this is a longer ceremony that doesn’t always occur to everyone. Once Chandler got a taste of this decadent ritual, he couldn’t help but steal Monica’s wonderfully crafted bath. Bath toys optional.

Slip on silk.

Whether it’s a new pair of pajamas, your trusty robe, or your favorite pair of underwear, silk (or lace) can make a girl feel sexier… whether you’re practicing the art of seduction at home or out to dinner with your significant other’s parents.

Put on a mask.

A face mask, that is. It’s an act that literally changes your face. So let it change your mood as you wash it away! Your skin will feel refreshed, and you will bring out that natural glow. Just ask Ross.

Do your hair.

Let’s face it: Putting on a full face of make-up to go nowhere is a total waste. But you can take part of your getting-ready-to-go-out ritual and curl your locks to feel instantly more glamorous. The best part? You are doing it just for yourself.

Turn up your favorite song.

Do a little dance. Make a little love. Well, pretty much, get down tonight. There’s nothing like a dance party (even if it’s just you in your bathroom) to release endorphins.

Spritz your special perfume before you sleep.

That lovely scent will ease you into sexy sleep. Then when you wake up and go about your day, it will feel like your own little secret. (Reminder: spray away from your eyes and other living beings.)

When you feel good, you look good and inevitably attract good to you. So go on with your bad self, but beware of the effect you may have on others.
